Thermofilm is a clear heat-sensitive specialty backing which can be completely removed after embroidering. It is an alternative to using regular backing when you do not want residue on the shell fabric. Thermofilm is available on a 39.5" wide x 55 yard long continuous roll.
Thermofilm can be used for embroidering most fabrics and then ironed for easy removal. The smoother the surface of the fabric (shirt and blouse fabric, jersey, silk and denim) the easier it is to iron away the film.
** Do not use on high-pile fabrics (terry cloth or fleece) because the residue from ironing will get into the loops and stick together.
Instructions: Place fabric with Thermofilm in the hoop with the rough side next to the fabric. After embroidering, tear away the excess Thermo Film. To remove the excess, set an iron on the highest level (for the fabric being used) and iron the side with film until it has melted and formed little balls. These can be brushed away. ** Never use steam or a heat press.
