Waterproof your embroidery! Use Thermoseal™ to seal the back of your embroidery and moisture will not penetrate the fabric through the tiny needle punctures. Great for rain or outdoor gear, umbrellas, outdoor jackets, and sports equipment; all kinds of functional clothing can be embellished and the wearer stays dry. Entirely new market segments are now open as wide as your imagination. Note: All garments/products should be tested prior to applying this material.
Processing Recommendations:
Remove stabilizer after embroidery process from waterproof or water-resistant fabric.
Cut a piece of THERMOSEAL 2-3 cm larger than the embroidery design.
Place THERMOSEAL onto back-side of embroidered fabric, adhesive side facing garment (the adhesive coating faces out on roll, slightly glossy look).
Seal with heat press: Temperature 266° - 300°F (130°C – 150°C), Pressure medium pressure, Time 10 – 15 sec.
Ironing-on with a household iron: High heat setting, for about 10-15 sec, press firmly.
For maximum adhesion, allow THERMOSEAL to set for 48 hours after pressing, before administering any washing tests.
TIP:
Testing is necessary to ensure the adhesiveness of the film. Just press a small piece of Thermoseal to the back of the fabric before embroidering. If the film sticks to the fabric, start with the described process.
